THE PRIMARY ELECTION BALLOT IS A PARTISAN BALLOT IN WHICH YOU MAY VOTE FOR CANDIDATES IN ONLY ONE PARTY SECTION ONLY.  IF YOU VOTE IN MORE THAN ONE PARTY SECTION,  YOUR PARTISAN BALLOT WILL BE REJECTED.

ABSENT COUNTING BOARD WILL BE PROCESSING ABSENT VOTER BALLOTS at Oakland Intermediate School District 2111 Pontiac Lake Road, Waterford, MI 48328.  There will be 40 Precinct Workers and 5 approved Challengers.  Hours 7:00 am to 8:00 pm

Absentee Voting

Absentee Voting Options 
All eligible registered voters in Michigan may now request an absent voter ballot without providing a reason.  You can request an absentee ballot online at your the Michigan Secretary of State website or by submitting this Absent Voter Ballot Application to your Clerk by the following methods:  by US MAIL, IN-PERSON at the Clerks Office, by EMAIL to deputyclerk@hollytownship.org, by FAX to 248-634-5482 or by using the MAIL SLOT IN THE TREASURERS OFFICE DOOR.

You can also use your absentee ballot application to be added to the NEW permanent ballot list, and a ballot will automatically be mailed to you for every election.

Permanent Absentee Voter List – Voters who have been on a Permanent Absentee Voter List were sent their 2024 election cycle applications in January 2024.  The State of Michigan will be phasing out the permanent absent voter application option after the November 5, 2024 Presidential Election.  Voters will be required to request an application for each election cycle or apply to be on the Permanent Ballot List.

Early Voting

Michigan voters overwhelmingly approved Proposal 2 in November, 2022. This Constitutional Amendment made a number of changes to Michigan voting laws and procedures, including establishing nine days of in-person early voting, a permanent mail voter list, absentee voting changes, and other changes.

Early Voting Schedule
DAYS – Early voting is open nine (9) consecutive days
beginning on the second Saturday before the election
and ending on the Sunday before the election.

TIME – Early voting is 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.,
except Thursday when hours are noon to 8:00 p.m

About your Township Clerk

In a General Law Township, the elected voting officers of Holly Township consist of the Supervisor, Clerk, Treasurer, and two Trustees. Karin S. Winchester was appointed to serve as Holly Township Clerk in May 1999 and was first elected in 2000. Along with the duties of day-to-day operations, the Clerk is charged with the custody and maintenance of all Township records, including official documents such as official minutes, contracts, policies and procedures, resolutions, ordinances, and serves as the Freedom of Information Officer for access to public records. She is responsible for all accounting functions including general ledger, accounts payable, payroll, etc. for the Township.  The Clerk is responsible for elections, maintenance of voter registration records, purchasing, licenses, permits, employee benefits, pension administration, other human resource issues, computer systems and software maintenance, building maintenance, preparation of the packets of information necessary for the Township Board meetings and the publication all notices. The Community Development Block Grant Program and the Building Department is administered by the Clerk as well as the Township website and she is the Township   Zoning Administrator.
